The Best Amusement Parks in Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach or the Grand Strand offers over 60 miles of beautiful oceanfront activities. From strolling down ocean boulevard to shelling on the beach, the fun never ends in the sunny state of South Carolina. From the ocean to the shopping malls there are many different areas that feature amusement parks, rides, and water parks.  For those who are adrenaline junkies, here are a few of our favorite amusement parks and water parks around town that will be the perfect way to spend a day with the whole family. 

Broadway Amusement Rides

With a combination of rides from the old Pavillion as well as a few new ones, this section of Broadway may be the children’s favorite. From the carousels to the giant slides there’s always something to entertain the little ones. You can buy single-ride tickets or purchase a wristband that allows you to ride all of the rides. This Myrtle Beach amusement park offers a little bit of history and a lot of fun.

Broadway Grand Prix

Enjoy a family fun day or night at Broadway Grand Prix. Located across the street from Broadway at the Beach, this Go-kart playground offers even the smallest drivers an option to test out their skills. From bumper cars to go-kart racing there’s never a dull moment at the Grand Prix. You can even take part in their thrill rides or their slingshot that launches you into the air hundreds of feet and freefall down. Enjoy your walk-up bar in the restaurant area as well as some arcade games too.

Family Kingdom Amusement Park

Family Kingdom amusement and water park sit right on the ocean. Enjoy a roller coaster or a Ferris wheel ride while overlooking the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. The amusement park has over 35 rides, including some rides that came from the old Pavilion park. You can spend your day or night there with the whole family, as it offers kiddie rides and rides for adults. Enjoy rides like the log flume or the old swamp fox wooden roller coaster. The water park has several slides and a lazy river. You can purchase single-ride tickets or a wristband that’s good for all day.

Funplex Myrtle Beach

The FunPlex park is designed for anyone seeking family thrill rides.  The park has a tropical theme and has a walk-up bar and restaurant.  The park will also Have the tallest interactive 360° flying jet ride. That is the first of its kind in North America. Experience a truly unique time at The Funplex. Choose From a variety of rides and enjoy your day with your family in the downtown Myrtle Beach area.

Myrtle Waves

Myrtle waves is a Myrtle Beach staple. Enjoy the dozens of slides from sleep speed slides, to kiddie slides, and even a giant wave pool. This all-day fun water park is perfect to cool the entire family off in the heat of summer. Go for an afternoon or evening or spend the entire day there, there is plenty to do and ride and if you get tired you could always lay out and soak up the sun. The slides are perfect for children and adults of all ages, and there is even an entire area dedicated to children slides.

SkyWheel Myrtle beach

Located on Ocean Boulevard, the SkyWheel is over 187 feet tall and has 42 gondolas. Ride to the very top as you look over the Atlantic ocean glistening during the day or night. If you choose to ride it at night you will be able to see the lights displayed as well as ride the first observation wheel of its kind in the United States. You can beat the heat in the gondolas as they are temperature-controlled. Enjoy the parking lot located right next to the giant wheel making it easy for you to enjoy the ride as well as the slingshot across the street.

The Track

The track is one of Myrtle Beach’s newest action-packed parks. This multilevel go-kart track offers kiddie tracks, regular tracks, and even an indoor arcade. Enjoy the wind blowing through your hair as you saw down a ramp in a go-kart racing your family. Or try your luck at the arcade in new and all the games. There is something for everyone at the track. Enjoy a thrilling ride that will leave you wanting to go again.

Wild Water And Wheels

Located a little further south is Wild Water and Wheels. This waterpark has been around for decades offering both children and adults a great experience. From their slides to their wave pool and lazy river, there is plenty to do. Enjoy a nice relaxing day in the sun, or cool off by racing down a speed slide. There are a few restaurants on-site so you never even have to leave to enjoy a nice meal.
