When traveling to North Myrtle Beach it is essential to visit and experience several different things in the area. Of course, the beach itself is most important, but there are many other attractions and activities to visit on the Grand Strand that will create unforgettable memories. From waterparks to shopping in Barefoot Landing or Broadway at the Beach there is always something going on. Locals and visitors both love the nightlife or live music that the Grand Strand offers. Enjoy a concert on ocean blvd, or in one of your favorite restaurants. You can always catch a live set somewhere. Here are a few of our favorite live music venues to check out on your beach vacation.
Barefoot Landing
Not only is Barefoot Landing a great way to spend an evening due to its shopping and dining options, but it is also wonderful for live entertainment. They offer many restaurants with outside and inside music venues.
House Of Blues
While not directly connected to Barefoot Landing, it is a part of the area. Located right next to Alabama Theatre, the House Of Blues is an internationally known venue that has been a crowd favorite since its opening in 1997. This music hall is not just a restaurant and music venue, but also offers a collection of American Folk Art. Come to see your favorite band, or listen to the live music as you grab dinner. The HOB is the perfect place to spend the evening.
Alabama Theatre
The Alabama Theatre is a great place to hear live music and enjoy a fantastic show at the same time. “One The Show” is live February through October and offers music genres from Broadway, pop, country, rock, and even gospel. It is a great way to spend an evening and escape the heat.
Murrells Inlet Marshwalk
After an evening at the beach, head down to the local’s favorite Murrells Inlet MarshWalk for a plethora of live entertainment. Many of the restaurants have an outside patio or seating area that has become a hotspot for live music in the Myrtle Beach area. Visit Dead Dog Saloon, Creek Ratz, Bubba’s Love Shak, Wahoo’s Fish House, Tuna Shak, or Hot Fish Club for a night you will never forget.
Bourbon Street
The small concert hall located right next door to Pine Lakes Tavern is the perfect place for those interested in participating in an open mic night. Four to six nights a week and you can experience live music with genres like rock ‘n’ roll, pop, reggae, and much more. This is the perfect place to unwind after a grueling game of golf.
Tin Roof
Located in the heart of Myrtle Beach, Tin Roof is a new addition to the oceanfront restaurants. Located on the third floor, you can overlook the ocean while you enjoy this live music venue. They offer indoor and outdoor space so no matter where you are you can hear live music. From genres like funk to karaoke nights, this place has it all and is located right on the ocean. So you can enjoy dinner with a view and a show.
The Boathouse
Located on the Intracoastal Waterway, the Boathouse is famous for its summer concert series. Starting in spring and running through you can find anybody from country artists to rock and hip-hop playing at the boathouse. Enjoy the outdoor event for the main show and then head inside for the after-party show. The indoor stage ensures that no matter the weather the artists are able to play rain or shine. Not only does it offer a spectacular view, but you can also arrive on a boat and still be a part of the concert.
Ocean Annie’s Beach Bar
Ocean Annie’s Beach bar has been an oceanfront hang-out and hub for over 30 years. You can hear some of the best cover bands on the beach performing on their patio day and night. Take a quick lunch break and hear some tunes and then head back to the beach for more fun. Or stop by during the nighttime and enjoy the sports bar-style atmosphere with cheap drinks and delicious food. No matter the time of day that you come to visit you absolutely have a fantastic time.
The Bowery
The Bowery is one of the oldest continually operating bars on the Grand Strand. Home of the country music supergroup Alabama, the Bowery carries on its tradition of offering cheap drinks and shows that make you feel like you’re in Nashville. Located on the boardwalk, you can enjoy a ride on the Skywheel and then head down a few steps over to the Bowery for some of the most authentic music in South Carolina.
Not only does music bring others together, but it’s a great way to learn about the culture of an area. You can learn so much about a town by the type of music that is played in and around the area. From Elvis impersonators to restaurants that turn into nightclubs, there is never a dull moment in North Myrtle Beach.
