When it comes to finding fun things to experience on your family vacation this year, North Myrtle Beach is the place to visit. This is where you can experience lots of authentic family fun that is guaranteed to bring your family closer together rather than spread them further apart.

How to Experience Authentic Family Fun in North Myrtle BeachLeave all those electronic devices at home or back in where you’re staying, pack a picnic lunch and head out to the beach for the day. Once there, spread out your blanket on the sand, drop your gear, and designate this home base. Then together, as a family, start walking the beachfront looking for shells. Don’t forget your camera! The shelling in this area of coastal South Carolina is simply awesome and everyone is looking for the largest, most perfect shell they can find to commemorate this year’s vacation. Some people collect certain types of shells to take home and make crafts with or decorate their own gardens, while others just want a small memento as a keepsake.

Some of the most excitement you will ever have as a family can be had on private fishing charters. Whether you fish the inlets and marshes, inshore, or out in the deep waters of the Atlantic, you’re sure to bring home plenty of fish if you opt to keep them but catch-and-release is alright, too.

You’ll want to take lots of pictures once everyone in the family has reeled in their catch of the day. This is one of those days that you will remember for the rest of your lives as being some of the most family fun you’ve ever experienced. We promise you that!

North Myrtle Beach: Improving for Your Best Experience Ever

If on a future visit to North Myrtle Beach you get the feeling that something has changed — the roads seem wider, the view more spacious — you won’t be imagining things. There are $6.5 million dollars worth of long awaited improvements in the works for Ocean Boulevard in North Myrtle Beach.

Ocean Bay Club condo rentalsThe area first affected will be the widening of Ocean Boulevard from 15th Avenue South to 28th Avenue South. This project will benefit not just the businesses along Ocean Boulevard but also their suppliers as well. Traffic won’t get backed up due to trucks being double parked to make their deliveries to businesses along this stretch of road. When it comes to your tax dollars, rest assured they’re not being increased to pay for this. The South Carolina Department of Transportation will pay for this project at a cost of $3.5 million dollars.

The City of North Myrtle Beach and Santee Cooper are orchestrating and paying for a second project, also along Ocean Boulevard, to move all overhead utilities to underground. Pat Dowling, the spokesperson for the City of North Myrtle Beach said it is a way to help prevent residents and business owners from losing power during a natural disaster like a hurricane. The city and Santee Cooper will share the $3 million dollar cost of this project.

Ocean Bay Club condo rentalsThe underground conversion project is scheduled to begin in fall or winter of 2014. The road widening project in the same area won’t begin until 2015.
