Head to the shore and explore Cherry Grove Beach, an iconic neighborhood of North Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. In the 1960s, Cherry Grove merged with three other beaches, Windy Hill Beach, Ocean Drive Beach, and Crescent Beach, to create the city of North Myrtle Beach we know today.

This idyllic area is home to the Cherry Grove Oceanfront Park and a myriad of great restaurant options. Here are some of our favorites, from casual to date night.

The Shack

Dig into some classic Southern cooking at The Shack in Cherry Grove. This award-winning old-school cafe serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and is popular with locals and tourists alike.

At The Shack, you’ll have the chance to try classic Southern entrees like shrimp and grits, chicken and dumplings, and chicken fried steak.

The Shack is open Monday through Saturday.

Basil’s Pizza

Check out Basil’s Pizza for some of the best-loved pizzas in Cherry Grove. This cozy pizza parlor is family-friendly and will satisfy all tastes with its delicious pizza, salad, appetizers, calzones, and strombolis.

Basil’s Pizza is open seasonally and does not operate during the winter season. During the high season, you can enjoy a slice from 4 pm to 8 pm, Thursday through Sunday.

Atlantis Pancake House

Babaka’s Pizzeria

Head to Babaka’s Pizzeria for a laid-back meal of Italian and Greek favorites. This tasty joint serves a wide range of appetizers, salads, pizzas, strombolis, subs, gyros, and pasta. Your meal can be enjoyed in the restaurant or from the comfort of your condo with takeout and delivery.

Babaka’s Pizzeria is open seven days a week for dine-in, carryout, and delivery from 4 pm to 10 pm.

Hurricane Colinz

If you are looking for a great location and an extensive, varied menu, Hurricane Colinz is a wonderful option. Come for good food, and stay for the ambiance.

Known for tasty seafood dishes but also offering burgers, pasta, steak, and more, Hurricane Colinz truly has something for everyone. In addition to great food, Hurricane Colinz has a full bar with tropical cocktails fitting for your beach vacation.

Hurricane Colinz is open Tuesday through Sunday from 4 pm to 10 pm. However, the restaurant closes for parts of the winter season; call ahead or check their social media to confirm.

Sunset Slush of North Myrtle Beach

After a delicious dinner at one of the many restaurants in Cherry Grove, you need some dessert! Move over ice cream; it’s time for a slush. Check out Sunset Slush of North Myrtle Beach to satisfy your sweet tooth. This cute dessert shop serves classic Italian ice in a long list of flavors.

Duck Dive Bar and Grill

If you are looking for a relaxed bar with a full menu of great food and live music, check out the local surf lounge, the Duck Dive Bar and Grill. Known for “Pub Grub,” like hamburgers, shrimp po’boys, and a ribeye panini, no one will leave hungry.

Try their famous Grove Bowl, a dish that unites jasmine rice and mixed greens with carrots, cucumber, tomatoes, and avocado. Snooky’s Oceanfront Restaurant

As the name suggests, Snooky’s Oceanfront Restaurant boasts an unbeatable location on the beach, offering gorgeous ocean views from their outdoor seating.

This beach restaurant is known for its ocean grill seafood that is caught fresh every day by local fishermen. Creamy Garlic Scallops and Baby Clams and the perfect appetizers. Their extensive entree menu features classic starters, burgers, sandwiches, seafood, a raw bar, and a brunch menu available on Saturdays and Sundays.

Snooky’s Oceanfront Restaurant is open seven days a week from 11 am to 7 pm.

Tailgate Oyster Bar

A recent addition to the lineup of Cherry Grove restaurants, Tailgate Oyster Bar has already made a name for itself by offering delicious, fresh steamed, and raw oysters and a small menu of additional items. Pair your oysters with one of their cold beers, and be sure to try one of the local brews on offer.

Tailgate Oyster Bar is open Thursday through Saturday from 5 pm to 9 pm.

Shaka-Laka Bowls of NMB

Part of the Boulineau family of businesses, Platt’s offers mouthwatering seafood baskets with tasty sides like french fries, hushpuppies, cole slaw, and fried corn. If you’d prefer to cook your own feast back at your condo, this market also allows you to purchase uncooked seafood.

Platt’s Seafood is open daily from 6:30 am to 9 pm.
